Throughout the whole course of preparing for this exhibition, I find myself dealing with certain feelings and conflicts I might have had towards the subject or subject matter of my paintings. It has become a very intimate part of my life as I go through everyday and return home to paint. Painting these itself has become an act of redemption of sorts, both for myself and for the people I was painting.
I was asked by some, about whether these paintings are a reflection of any part of my life or experiences. I can only say, it is both imaginary and real, both a figment of my fantasy and of memories, of people who have arrived and left and of the could-have-beens.

Some work in progress, close up shots..

Working on another painting…

I paint on floors because I hardly have enough space

Finally, I’m working on my last two paintings.. the smallest ones of the lot. I’m aware of how little time I have left! And it is the very first time the subject of one of my paintings is a male.
