I was lying in bed the whole of last week. Bedridden of sorts, due to a bad knee, overdue work to be done and an injured heart. While lying on my bed, there were times I cried and a dear one came snuggling up by my side. And surely, many times I prayed. I experienced intimacy of various levels all in one day, on my bed. Then one night, I lied there, motionless, just remembering memories. And it was a special moment.
**********
Close – the nearness of another. Since birth, we long for intimacy in every way, through every stage of our lives. My drawings, showcased as an installation, will seek to explore the progression of proximity through the process of aging in a triptych of chalk drawings. They feature two hands coming together to create intimacy expressed in different forms of Love.
Work in progress…
